Agartala: Tripura’s ruling BJP is gearing up for the Urban Local Bodies elections. The party is putting extra weight behind the Agartala Municipal Corporation race. Chief Minister Manik Saha led a strategy session to tighten the party’s grip on the ground.

Big names filled the room. Biplab Kumar Deb, Abhishek Debroy, Ravindra Raju, Mriganka Deo Barman, and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath attended. They handed out assignments to ensure central leadership directives stick. The team plans a massive statewide push to shut down opposition talking points.

Biplab Kumar Deb claimed the opposition is busy attacking democratic norms. He said, "The BJP, he said, would organise a series of programmes to counter what it described as attempts to create unrest and disrupt peace." These efforts include foot marches, press events, and direct talks with students and youth.

State president Abhishek Debroy also took aim at the opposition. He blasted them for spreading lies about the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Debroy insisted that previous Congress governments ran the same exercises. The party will now explain the process directly to voters to clear the air.
