Agartala: Assam Rifles troops intercepted 1,500 bottles of ESCUF syrup in the Singicherra area of Tripura on October 26. The haul carries a market value of roughly Rs 15 lakh. It was a clean bust. Working off specific intelligence, a joint team of Assam Rifles soldiers and Customs officials tracked the hidden stash to its location in Khowai district.

Authorities seized the contraband to break up regional trafficking networks. This operation fits into a wider push to stop the illegal flow of pharmaceutical products across the Northeast. The Assam Rifles command noted the mission demonstrated effective cooperation, stating the seizure highlights the "coordination between Assam Rifles and enforcement agencies to prevent illicit activities and strengthen vigilance in Tripura."

The joint team handed the entire consignment over to Customs officials. These officers now lead the investigation and subsequent legal proceedings. The raid serves as a warning to those moving illegal goods through the state.
