Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha demanded an unconditional apology from Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on October 27. The demand follows a controversial outburst in Patna this past Sunday. During an event, Kharge responded to an audience member by saying, Modi ka baap bhi jayega. The remark, which translates to even Modi's father will go, targeted the Prime Minister and his late father.

Saha slammed the comment as offensive and insulting to 1.45 billion Indians. He characterized the statement as a sign of ideological bankruptcy and desperation within the Congress party. Regarding Kharge's state of mind, the Chief Minister stated, I felt that he was not in his mind. Such comments should not have been made by the president of a national party like the Congress.

The criticism continued in Agartala on Monday. The BJP Sadar district committee held a protest rally to voice their outrage. State vice-president Tapas Bhattacharjee addressed the crowd, claiming the opposition is dangerously impatient to regain power. He also alleged the Cockroach Janta Party is a creation of the Congress and Left alliance.

Saha further attacked the opposition coalition, claiming the INDIA bloc lacks clear principles and prioritizes bringing Rahul Gandhi to power over addressing public needs. He dismissed comparisons between India and the recent political shifts in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The Chief Minister questioned the logic of the Congress partnering with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), calling the alliance unusual.
