Tripura CM: Opposition Only Attacks Election Integrity When BJP Wins

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha hit back at opposition critics on Friday. He defended Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Saha praised the official for delivering fair election results in West Bengal. He credits the removal of dead and ineligible voters from electoral rolls for the shift in power. "After the electoral rolls in Bengal were revised dead and ineligible voters had been removed which is why the true mandate of the public was reflected in the polls results of Bengal," Saha said.

The Chief Minister argued that complaints about the commission are purely selective. Opposition parties ignore the fairness of polls whenever they secure a victory. He pointed to Kerala as a prime example of this double standard. He noted that if the opposition claims against the Chief Election Commissioner were valid, the BJP would have won in that state as well. These theatrics will fail. The country has a solid democratic foundation.

Saha also blasted local opposition leaders in Tripura for spreading misinformation. He joked that these politicians have mastered the art of lying so well they could run a university on the subject. They follow a clear schedule to repeat these falsehoods to grab public attention. He insisted these tactics will not hold up over time.
