Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha departed for New Delhi on Sunday for political engagements. He indicated a potential meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, though the schedule remains unconfirmed. Saha returned to Agartala briefly on Saturday to manage state business before heading back to the capital. He stressed the fluid nature of party planning, stating, "I hope we will have discussions. I am not sure whether any meeting will take place or not, but I am going."

Tipra Motha leaders are currently camping in New Delhi as the parties weigh a formal alliance. Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, founder of Tipra Motha, insists the Tiprasa Accord is the sole basis for any partnership. He rejected offers of ministerial roles or government posts. Debbarman argued such positions only serve a few, while his goal remains a constitutional solution for the broader population. He pledged to exit active politics once the accord is implemented, shifting to an advisory role.

Saha addressed growing public anger over inflated electricity bills. He promised to resolve these grievances in phases, claiming his administration avoids the stagnant habits of previous governments. He accused opposition parties of using the billing crisis to incite public unrest.

The Chief Minister also addressed an indefinite strike by groups representing surrendered militants. He directed officials to review the original peace accords to see if any concessions are possible. Saha stated he is willing to meet the former militants directly if it helps settle their demands.
