Agartala: Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) suspended two engineers for failing to manage billing and consumer services. Officials ordered the removals after repeated complaints about lapses in duty. The suspended staff remain sidelined while the company conducts a formal inquiry.

The crackdown does not stop there. Multiple other engineers now face investigation for their roles in billing irregularities and slow response times. The corporation aims to fix systemic issues and restore public faith. "The suspension is intended to send a clear message that dereliction of duty will not be tolerated," an official stated.

Residents have spent months venting about persistent billing errors and sluggish service restoration. The corporation plans to overhaul internal monitoring systems to boost transparency. The company will decide if more punishments are required once the probe ends.

Consumers have specifically pointed to complicated billing issues and a general failure by staff to address grievances as the primary drivers of their ongoing frustration.
