Tripura Contractors Demand Two Years of Unpaid Bills from TSECL

Agartala: Contractors working under the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited are running out of money. On Thursday, the Contractors' Association handed a memorandum to the TSECL Managing Director. They want their cash now. Dues have sat unpaid for nearly two years despite the completion of numerous electricity and development infrastructure projects across the state.

Debt is piling up. Contractors cannot pay their workers or settle accounts with suppliers. Many struggle to manage daily operations under the weight of this financial pressure. The association met with the Managing Director to demand the immediate clearance of pending bills, a system for timely future payments, and a swift fix for their ongoing operational hurdles.

The group warned that ongoing electricity projects will stall if the corporation refuses to act. They hope the leadership listens to these demands. If the money does not arrive, the group plans to escalate the situation. Association members stated, "if payments are not released soon, they may be compelled to launch a larger agitation to press for their rights."
