Agartala: Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath marched through Mohanpur on November 5. He led a rally supporting BJP candidates filing their nominations for the West Tripura district municipal elections. The streets were busy. Nath used the platform to push the party's development agenda and claim deep support from local residents.

Addressing the crowd, the minister did not hold back. He challenged leaders from both the CPI(M) and Congress to visit the town and see the turnout for themselves. He argued that public trust in his party remains high. "The public response to the rally reflected the support and trust the BJP claimed to enjoy among people," Nath stated.

Nath laid out the criteria for his party's picks. He insisted that education alone does not make a good representative. The chosen candidates boast records of social service and hands-on experience, ensuring they understand the needs of their neighbors. He claimed these individuals are ready to stand by residents through any hardship.

The minister took shots at the previous CPI(M) administration. He alleged that the former government abandoned people when they needed help most. Looking ahead, he dismissed the CPI(M)'s future prospects, pointing toward the 2028 Assembly elections as proof of their waning influence. He finished by urging all opposition parties to field their own candidates to ensure a fair democratic contest.
