Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expects the BJP-led NDA to capture all 51 wards in the upcoming Agartala Municipal Corporation elections. He set this goal on November 5 after meeting with party nominees and local leaders.

The meeting included state BJP president Abhishek Debroy, Mayor Dipak Majumder, MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, and party in-charge Mriganka Deo Barman. The BJP plans to campaign on urban infrastructure, water supply, electricity, healthcare, and road connectivity.

Saha highlighted the party's focus on service. "Every election is important for us. We never take any election lightly. For us, winning is not merely about a particular candidate securing victory. When our candidate wins, he or she becomes a representative of the people, responsible for working towards their development and addressing their basic needs," he said.

The administration points to success in waste management, drainage, and sanitation as proof of progress. Saha noted that mosquito issues dropped due to these civic projects. He also cited upgraded facilities at the Agartala Government Medical College, IGM Hospital, and the Dental College, plus new Aarogya Mandirs.

Law and order remains a pillar of the platform. Saha claims safety has improved across the state. Residents now move with confidence. The alliance is preparing to contest approximately 345 seats in the broader urban local body elections. Organizers are currently finalizing their candidate lists and logistical plans.
