Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha blasted the opposition on Sunday, September 6, for pushing divisive politics. He claimed the BJP remains focused on development and welfare under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister spoke at a rally organized by the BJP 4-Barjala Mandal.
Saha said the party will contest the upcoming Village Committee elections alongside the NDA. He accused the CPI(M) and Congress of trying to manufacture a divide-and-rule scenario to gain power. The public has already rejected these groups. He noted that the opposition parties are stuck in the thinking of 1978.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the BJP will repeat its past electoral success in upcoming Agartala Municipal Corporation and Nagar Panchayat contests. He insisted that parties must earn trust through service rather than threats. "In politics, people want someone whom they can believe and trust. You cannot do politics with muscle power. We have to work for the people," he stated.
Saha touted government welfare programs providing housing, drinking water, food, and cooking gas to residents. He credits the party's growth to the influence of the Prime Minister. "We have a guardian like PM Modi who only thinks about the people and how to work for development," he said. He added that the state is working to mirror the economic progress of India, now the world's fourth-largest economy.
