Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has ordered BJP cadres to accelerate preparations for the looming urban local body elections. He wants zero complacency. The directive came during an October 1 meeting of the party's Agartala unit.

State BJP president Abhishek Debroy joined Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath at the briefing. They mapped out plans to bolster the party's reach for the municipal and Nagar Panchayat contests. Saha insists that past dominance does not guarantee future results.

The party swept every seat in previous rounds, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation. Saha expects the same performance for the 21 bodies up for grabs this cycle. "This time it is 21. To make it meaningful, I told everyone that everyone should take the issue seriously. There should be no lethargy anywhere. Everyone should remain active," Saha said.

Officials have yet to announce the formal committee for the campaign. Saha noted that the party president will release the names once they are ready. For now, the orders are to stay on the ground and keep the organization running hot.
