Agartala: Tripura BJP leaders crammed into the Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala on September 19. They came to fix their game plan for the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. Chief Minister Manik Saha led the session with state president Abhishek Debroy, cabinet ministers, MLAs, and district officials.
The clock is ticking. Polls hit 587 Village Committees on September 28, covering 4,597 seats total. Saha emphasized the need for a stronger party machine before voters head to the booths. Workers received specific orders on how to handle the campaign trail. "We had an organisational meeting here today. The organisational meeting was held in view of the upcoming Village Committee elections. Various workers from different parts of the state participated in the meeting. The concerned MLAs were also present," Saha said.
The party is also eyeing a wider electoral horizon. Debroy confirmed the leadership discussed pending by-elections and confirmed the status of their NDA alliance. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Speaker Rampada Jamatia, former MP Rebati Tripura, and former Union minister Pratima Bhoumik attended the high-stakes strategy session. The ruling alliance is now pushing for total coordination to lock down these seats.
