Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha ordered a zero-tolerance crackdown on cross-border smuggling and violence against security forces on November 5. He issued the directive during a high-level security meeting in Agartala. Officials must now hunt down everyone involved in recent border clashes.

The meeting addressed a specific attack on BSF personnel in the Sepahijala district village of Ashabari. Smugglers and locals allegedly swarmed the officers. Authorities have named 19 people in the official FIR. Police have already arrested 10 suspects. Work continues to track the others.

Saha spoke plainly about the violence. "Violence against security forces would not be tolerated under any circumstances," he stated. He wants better coordination between the state administration, Tripura Police, and the BSF to lock down the border.

Chief Secretary JK Sinha, DGP (in-charge) GS Rao, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, and BSF Inspector General Princee Rani attended the briefing. Representatives from the CRPF and Assam Rifles also joined the room. Security presence is up. Extra troops are patrolling the affected areas to keep order.
