Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha wants a new coordination committee to lock down the state international border. He aims to bring the state administration, local police, and the Border Security Force together to tighten security protocols. Saha pushed for this plan on September 13 following a blood donation camp at the Shalbagan BSF headquarters.
IG BSF Tripura Frontier Prince Rani attended the event alongside the Chief Minister. Saha noted that the state faces Bangladesh on three sides. The proposed committee intends to boost response times for any security threats. He said, "The proposed coordination committee may become beneficial."
The Chief Minister pointed to a smart border pilot project currently running in the Sepahijala district. He believes this unified approach will stop smuggling and other crimes. Officials aim to increase vigilance to protect residents in vulnerable border zones. Constant communication between the BSF and state police remains the primary goal to keep law and order intact.
