Agartala: Tripura registered 446 illegal infiltration cases between 2023 and 2025. Chief Minister Manik Saha revealed these figures during a Tripura Legislative Assembly session. He answered a direct inquiry from Congress MLA Sudip Sarkar regarding border security status.
Saha, who directs the Home portfolio, stated that the state government is collaborating with Central agencies. They aim to block illegal crossings and tighten surveillance. State Police, the BSF, the Special Branch, and various intelligence units now share data. These groups coordinate security operations alongside district administrations.
Authorities perform constant patrols and vehicle searches. They check routes prone to illegal movement. Regular review meetings track arrest rates and identify weak spots in current border fencing. Saha explained the operational goals: "The state government is working with Central agencies to prevent infiltration and improve surveillance along vulnerable stretches."
Work crews reinforced security at bridges and culverts. They installed temporary barriers using concertina coils and barbed wire to seal off high-risk points.
