Agartala: The BSF Tripura Frontier teamed up with the National Commission for Women to host a major anti-human trafficking workshop. The event took place at the 42 Battalion BSF campus in Fatikchhera. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar chaired the meeting. The event started with a ceremonial lamp lighting.
Inspector General Princee Rani, IPS, opened the floor for the troops. She spoke on the need for specialized knowledge when working sensitive borders. The program saw over 300 BSF personnel from across the Tripura Frontier turn out for the training. Officials want to build a better framework for prevention, protection, and prosecution in the Northeast.
NCW experts ran two technical sessions for the officers. They covered the legal framework, how to identify victims, rescue and rehabilitation steps, and investigation procedures. The instructors also reviewed inter-agency coordination and national best practices. The goal was to help guards spot networks operating in the area.
The event wrapped up with an Open House Discussion. This gave the BSF staff a chance to trade stories and ask the experts questions. "This interactive exchange allowed officers to connect theory with practice, ensuring that lessons learned could be applied in real-world scenarios," officials stated. The initiative reinforces the BSF commitment to protecting vulnerable communities through shared intelligence and training.
