Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha dismissed the opposition INDIA bloc on October 25. He claimed the parties lack a common ideology and grouped together only to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party. The alliance is dead on arrival. Saha argued that each party in the coalition maintains its own conflicting agenda and narrow political interests.
Saha refuses to use the official name of the opposition group. He calls it the INDI alliance instead. "We do not call it the INDIA alliance; we call it the INDI alliance. They have no common principles. Each party has its own ideology and agenda. They have come together only because they are against the BJP. Such an alliance cannot sustain itself for long," he told reporters.
The Chief Minister accused the opposition of trying to trick voters. He remains certain the public sees through these political tactics and will reject the alliance at the polls. Saha also questioned the consistency of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party regarding their various partnerships. He dismissed concerns about the upcoming urban local body elections in Tripura entirely.
The BJP expects a clear victory. Saha remains unfazed by the threat of a united front. "Let them continue with their political activities. There is no reason for us to be concerned," he said. The Chief Minister also attacked the opposition's leadership record within Parliament, casting doubt on their ability to work as a team.
