Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expects the NDA to secure more than 90 percent of seats in the recent village committee elections. Officials start counting the ballots on Monday, October 5.
Saha reported that the Sunday, October 4, voting went smoothly. Authorities are currently investigating a few isolated reports of violence. The Chief Minister addressed the history of post-poll unrest in the region. He stated, "Election-related violence should not happen. Post-poll violence has been continuing for a long time, and it remains a major challenge for us to come out of this culture. I hope this time there will be no such incidents."
The government pushed hard on rural infrastructure. Crews built concrete roads in areas previously blocked to traffic. Saha rejected opposition claims of inaction, pointing to visible upgrades in bridges, lake beautification, and electricity grids. He said people can see these changes for themselves.
Administrative access improved for many residents. Villagers now secure Aadhaar cards and Scheduled Caste certificates with less friction. Beneficiaries receive welfare payments and essential services more reliably than in the past. Saha believes these tangible results will drive a strong mandate for his party at the polls.
