Agartala: Commonwealth Games gold medalist Asmita Dey is the new brand ambassador for the South Tripura Nasha Mukt Premier League. The judo champion signed a formal agreement with local authorities to front the football tournament. This marks the fourth season for the competition.

South Tripura District Magistrate Md Sajjad P confirmed the move. He wants to boost regional sports and push kids toward a clean, drug-free life. Dey will use her status to mentor young players. Her goal is to keep them off drugs by promoting discipline and hard work.

The district administration believes her transition from the international podium to local advocacy is a powerful message. Officials stated, "Dey, who recently brought laurels to Tripura and India by winning a gold medal in judo at the Commonwealth Games, will use her sporting achievements and journey to inspire young people through the tournament." The campaign aims to help athletes stay away from substance abuse and pursue their goals.
