Imphal: Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey touched down in Manipur this Tuesday. He hit the ground running in Senapati district, where he held a formal review of central welfare programs and major infrastructure work at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S and Assistant District Superintendent of Police ML Kaisungbou greeted him upon arrival.

Dubey issued a clear order to local officials. Speed up. He demanded that government benefits actually reach the people on the ground. The minister spoke about the vision of a self-reliant India by 2047. He credited new highway expansion and railway projects for clearing the logjams that have long choked Northeast logistics.

The meeting covered a lot of ground. Department heads laid out the status of forest management, rural development, security, healthcare, and public utilities. Dubey told the staff to route their technical feedback and public complaints through central channels like NITI Aayog to get things moving. The minister also swung by the Senapati District Hospital to check on progress for a new Super Speciality Ward.

Later, he headed to the Babupara Secretariat in Imphal. He sat down with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh to hash out development issues. The chief minister later called the session a productive meeting.
