Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma opened the Brington Buhai Lyngdoh Memorial Hall on October 27. The ceremony took place in Laitlyngkot, the birthplace of the former Chief Minister. It fell on his 23rd death anniversary.

Lyngdoh earned the nickname Father of Coalition Politics for his work in the state. He led the push for statehood and helped build lasting political institutions. He kept the government steady during turbulent times. The new hall honors his leadership and his role in shaping the history of Meghalaya.

Officials hope the site will preserve his service. It aims to spark inspiration in future generations through his vision. As the state remembers his work, the hall stands as a home for his public legacy. The Chief Minister stated, "The inauguration honoured Lyngdoh’s life, leadership and enduring legacy."
