Kohima: Special Intensive Revision Observer Asangla Imti pushed for clean, accurate, and error-free electoral rolls in Zunheboto. She met with election officials and political party representatives at the Deputy Commissioner conference hall on October 27. Cooperation is mandatory. Imti, who serves as Commissioner and Secretary of School Education and SCERT, told attendees that a solid roll is the bedrock of free and fair elections.
She challenged parties to stop playing the blame game. Instead, she wants them to work directly with Booth Level Officers to spot and fix mistakes. "She said an accurate electoral roll was fundamental to free and fair elections and urged political parties to actively participate in the revision exercise and coordinate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to identify and rectify discrepancies."
Imti demanded that Electoral Registration Officers handle additions, deletions, and objections with diligence. She told them to stop seeing the revision as a burden and start treating it as a duty. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj echoed these sentiments. He welcomed the observer and emphasized the need for a unified front during the upcoming revision. Assistant Electoral Registration Officers must now step up to support their teams and find practical answers to local obstacles.
