Gangtok: The Sikkim High Court is ditching paper. It ordered the Registry on October 26 to handle all new files, drafting, note-sheets, and approvals through its digital office portal. The move forces a total shift toward a paperless administrative system.

Registry staff must now use the portal for every new task. Physical files already moving through the system can finish their journey, but no new paper files will get the green light. The court wants to speed up workflows and stop relying on traditional physical paperwork.

The Registrar General sent the directive to all joint registrars, section in-charges, and top office personnel. The Computer Cell will post the mandate on the court website. "All concerned are accordingly directed to ensure strict compliance with the above instructions to facilitate a smooth and seamless transition towards paperless office," the circular stated.
