Gangtok: Sikkim National Law University is hunting for a new Vice-Chancellor. The institution issued a formal call for applications to fill the single vacancy in 2026. Applicants should ideally be under 65 years old by the submission deadline of October 25, 2026.
Candidates must be distinguished scholars in law or eminent jurists. The university demands ten years of experience as a professor or equivalent high-level research and administrative leadership roles. The Search-cum-Selection Committee will evaluate applicants based on the Sikkim National Law University Act, 2018, and UGC standards. The university specifies that the "Vice Chancellor shall be an accomplished academician and an outstanding scholar in law or an eminent jurist."
Interested professionals must submit a formal application package. This includes a CV, identity proof, academic credentials, and proof of administrative experience. Applicants must also provide a vision statement for the next five years, not exceeding 2,500 words.
