CAP Sikkim Demands Ouster of Chief Economic Advisor Mahendra P Lama

Gangtok: Citizen Action Party (CAP) members marched through Sikkim on Thursday, October 1. They want Chief Economic Advisor Mahendra P Lama fired. The group claims Lama pushed a controversial plan for a permanent political solution in the Darjeeling region.

Protesters argue this proposal threatens Sikkim. They demand the state government cut ties with Lama immediately. "CAP has maintained that Sikkim's interests should not be linked to any such arrangement."

The party says the administration must clarify the advisor's specific role in the scheme. They are waiting for an official response. The government has yet to address the protest or the allegations against their top economic strategist.
