Indian Army Trains CISF Guards for Agartala Airport Security

Agartala: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps kicked off a 14-day training drill for Central Industrial Security Force guards at the Agartala Military Station. The sessions started on July 27 to harden defenses at Tripura’s Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport. It is all about teamwork. Soldiers are teaching the CISF how to manage aviation security and coordinate better during emergencies.

Instructors are running through high-stakes scenarios. The curriculum covers vital point protection and Quick Reaction Team drills to stop potential attackers. They are also focusing on counter-drone operations and specific threat mitigation tactics. The goal is simple: tighten the security net around critical infrastructure. Military officials stated the initiative is designed to strengthen coordination between the Indian Army and the CISF in addressing evolving security challenges and improving the overall security framework at key installations.

Once the two-week block ends, these guards head back to MBB Airport. They will carry new operational skills to handle emerging threats. The program operates under the Military-Civil Fusion framework to ensure airport staff and the Army work as one unit.
