Agartala: The Indian Army finished its five-day Agniveer recruitment rally in Agartala on October 17. A total of 1,203 candidates from across Tripura showed up at the Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat to test their mettle. The drive ran from October 13 to 17.

Organized by the Army Recruiting Office in Silchar, the event operated under the Headquarters Recruiting Zone for North East States in Shillong. It relied on close coordination with Spear Corps and the local civil administration. Officials noted that participation hit record levels this year. Army leadership expects the selection rate to double compared to previous figures, likely boosting the total headcount of new recruits from the state.

Candidates slogged through a gauntlet of physical, operational, and medical assessments. The process remained strictly merit-based. The Army stated, "the recruitment process was transparent, fair and merit-based."

State police and local officials kept things moving by providing logistical support, medical help, and clean water. Teams also set up holding areas to manage the crowds. The military thanked the local residents and the state government for the smooth operation. While the rally is finished, the Army has not yet released the final list of successful candidates.
