Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh Leads All Souls Day Service in Shillong

Shillong: Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh led a special Holy Mass at the Cathedral Parish in Laitumkhrah this Monday. He gathered the faithful to observe All Souls Day. The service focused on the resurrection and the promise of eternal life for those who have passed.

Crowds moved to local cemeteries after the service. They lit candles and laid flowers on the graves of their relatives. It is a day for prayer. Archbishop Lyngdoh told the congregation that while the dead are gone, they remain in the hearts of the living. He stressed that visiting these sites serves a higher purpose than simple decoration.

"While the departed are no longer physically present, they live on in the hearts and memories of those they left behind," the Archbishop said. He asked the faithful to seek God's grace for the deceased. His message focused on the hope that the departed reach the glory of heaven, a place where God wipes away every tear.
