Meghalaya Updates Lok Bhavan Official Protocol to Include State Anthem

Shillong: Official protocol at Lok Bhavan in Shillong changed this week. The Meghalaya State Anthem and Vande Mataram now join the National Anthem at all government functions. The new order appeared during the oath-taking ceremony for Paul Lyngdoh on Monday.

Events previously opened with just the National Anthem. The Monday proceedings broke that tradition. Officials started with the National Anthem and followed it immediately with the state anthem. The ceremony ended with a specific sequence: Vande Mataram played before the National Anthem. This marks a permanent shift in how the state handles its official proceedings.
