Indian Army Trains Airport Security Staff in Agartala

Agartala: The Indian Army's Spear Corps started a 14-day training course for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on July 27. The sessions take place at the Agartala Military Station. This program operates under the military-civil fusion framework to sharpen security at the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport. Officials want better coordination between these agencies to handle modern threats.

Army instructors are teaching specific skills to the CISF team. The curriculum covers vital area protection, industrial security, and counter-drone operations. The guards also drill for Quick Reaction Team (QRT) responses and threat mitigation. A representative overseeing the training said, "Modern security challenges require a seamless and coordinated response among different agencies."

The training aims to combine the Army's tactical knowledge with the aviation security duties of the CISF. Once the two-week block ends, these personnel will return to MBB Airport. They will bring new operational skills back to the gateway facility. The Army remains focused on building capacity across Central Armed Police Forces through such joint efforts.
