Guwahati: Unidentified attackers shot three men near the Ghoramara area of Lahowal in Assam on Wednesday, July 22. The victims were riding a two-wheeler toward Dibrugarh when a group in a luxury car intercepted them. The gunmen opened fire and fled the scene.
Rantu Gogoi, a resident of Rangchangi Kopowhuwa village in Chabua, took a bullet to the leg. Dipyoti Gogoi and Mithu Gogoi also suffered injuries during the ambush. They are currently receiving care at a Dibrugarh hospital. Medical staff have not released official updates on their condition.
The violence sparked fear throughout the community. Local residents expressed shock at the sudden attack. Police registered a case and started a probe to track down the suspects. "Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those involved," officials stated. Authorities continue to gather evidence to determine why the shooting occurred.
