Kohima: Mokokchung is getting seven new road projects. The 30th Alongtaki A/C Congress Committee secured these under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Member of Parliament and Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President S Supongmeren Jamir spearheaded the initiative. The committee thanked him for the work.
The seven projects connect rural communities to markets, schools, and hospitals. A Chuba Longkumer, president of the 30th Alongtaki ACCC, praised the incoming infrastructure. He said, "The infrastructure will provide enhanced access to healthcare, education, markets, and businesses while driving socio-economic growth for rural communities and future generations."
The project list features seven roads. The Lirmen to Tsuremmen road is valued at 10.38 crore. The JRR Junction to Aonokpu project costs 2.46 crore. The L043-T01 to Moayimti road totals 3.46 crore, while the L026-L026 to Longjemdang road sits at 2.60 crore. Other priority projects include Tull to Aopenzu, Sabangya Longkhum road to Kubza, and L-031 to Longkhum.
Local officials provided key support. Er Chubatoshi of the PWD Mangkolemba Sub-Division and the PMGSY Cell in Kohima handled the paperwork. The committee asked the public to watch over construction work. Residents must support contractors to ensure high technical standards for these roads.
