Kohima: The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, the District Administration, and the District Health Society kicked off an Integrated Health Campaign in Mon on October 30. Held at the Tizit Primary Health Centre, the effort operates under the National AIDS Control Organisation. The project targets early detection and treatment for HIV, syphilis, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.
Longyim Tzudir, District Programme Officer for DISHA, led the event. After an invocation by Pastor P Wennyei, officials including Tizit Additional Deputy Commissioner C Phuniang and local KU President Wangdun spoke to the attendees. Dr M C Longai Phom detailed how the program operates at the community level. He noted that the goal is to find undetected cases and help patients get better care.
Dr. Phom urged the public to get checked. "Individuals who test positive must be linked to confirmatory testing and appropriate treatment services to ensure better health outcomes and improve their quality of life," he said. The campaign covers 40 villages in the Tizit area and select spots in Naginimora through November 22, 2026.
Patients with reactive results go through the National AIDS Control Programme, the National TB Elimination Programme, or the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme for confirmatory testing. Nokmao K, President of the Tizit Area Students Union, offered final thanks. Organizers want full community participation to improve local health results.
