Guwahati: Three people sustained serious injuries during a wreck on National Highway 27 in Jagiroad. Medics rushed the victims to Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital for immediate stabilization. One person remains in critical condition. Doctors transferred that patient to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for specialized care.

Authorities have not determined the cause of this latest collision. Information regarding the specific vehicles involved remains unavailable. This highway stretch is dangerous. The Jagiroad to Sonapur to Guwahati corridor sees heavy passenger and commercial traffic daily.

Commuters are fed up. They demand better road conditions and stricter traffic management. A major crash at Khetri in Sonapur killed seven people in August. Investigations at the time cited potholes and poor maintenance as key factors. Another wreck occurred at Chamata in Sonapur on September 10, marking the third such crash that month. Officials noted that the repeat incidents have "renewed concerns among commuters about road conditions, traffic management and the need for stronger safety measures along the highway."
