Guwahati: A roadside eatery near the Dibrugarh judicial court in Assam burned to the ground on Sunday, October 25. The fire wiped out the entire structure and everything inside it. The blaze gained sudden intensity when a cooking gas cylinder exploded. The blast sent flames tearing through the building.
Firefighters rushed to the scene with several tenders to battle the growing fire. They worked fast to stop the heat from reaching the adjacent court complex. Their efforts paid off. The courthouse escaped damage. Officials confirmed that there were no injuries during the incident.
The authorities have not calculated the total financial cost of the loss. They have also not determined the exact cause of the fire. As one official noted, the intervention "ensured that the fire did not reach the adjacent judicial court complex." The investigation into the site remains ongoing.
