Fire Destroys Shops and Vehicles in Assam's Nagaon District

Guwahati: A fast-moving fire tore through the Roumari area of Rupohihat in Assam on Tuesday. The blaze ignited at the home of Abu Bakkar Siddique before jumping to nearby businesses. Flames quickly chewed through a four-wheeler and a motorcycle parked in the path of the fire. Several shops suffered total destruction.

Property and commercial goods worth several lakhs of rupees went up in smoke. Residents watched in panic as the fire spread through the local market. Fire and Emergency Services crews arrived on the scene to battle the inferno. The team worked to contain the heat and stop the fire from claiming more buildings.

Investigators are currently looking at an electrical short circuit as the likely culprit. While the exact cause remains unconfirmed, officials stated that "the fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit." Firefighters remained on the scene as they pushed to extinguish the last of the flames.
