Assam Boosts Sports Infrastructure to Build Future Talent

Guwahati: Assam is pushing to upgrade sports facilities and training programs. The state wants its youth to compete at national and international levels. Minister Biswajit Daimary confirmed the government is backing this move. Athletes need support to grow. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is leading the push to build local training centers across the state.

The government is ready to send players to other states for better equipment or specialized training when needed. Officials believe local development remains the top priority. "Our future lies in our youth. That is why young people are being encouraged to participate in various sports," Daimary stated.

The push for growth arrives as the All Assam Karate Association just wrapped up a two-day state-level championship. The event saw roughly 1,300 participants compete. AAKA president Diganta Kalita managed the logistics for the massive turnout. Kalita noted the success proves the group's dedication to the sport. "After a long time, we have managed to bring Assam karate to this level, and we will continue our efforts to take it further," he said.
