Guwahati: A passenger vehicle crashed on National Highway 27 at Chamata in Sonapur on September 10. Several people suffered injuries during the wreck. Medics rushed the victims to a nearby hospital for treatment. The vehicle was headed from Jagiroad toward Guwahati when the accident occurred.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the collision. This site has become a hot spot for wrecks. Local reports indicate this marks the third major accident in the Sonapur area this month. The frequency of these crashes creates major anxiety for commuters and residents who rely on the corridor for travel.

Traffic management and poor road conditions are under the microscope. Officials face pressure to tighten safety protocols along the heavy-traffic route. "The latest accident has once again raised concerns over road safety along the Sonapur stretch of NH-27, where a series of mishaps have reportedly occurred in recent weeks." Investigators are still working to confirm the total number of victims and their current medical status.
