Zunheboto Leaders Threaten Legal Action Over Fake Alcohol

Kohima: Zunheboto officials are cracking down on the liquor trade. The Zunheboto Town Gaon Burahs Association issued a stern warning against the sale and consumption of fake, adulterated booze. They plan to trigger legal action against anyone caught breaking the law.

District administration leaders met at the DC Conference Hall on October 28 to map out the strategy. The Additional Deputy Commissioner led the discussion. Attendees included the Excise Department, local police, the All Sumi Students Union, plus various NGOs and civil society groups. These stakeholders agreed to launch surprise inspections across the district soon.

ZTGBA President Kiyexu Chishi stated, "The association called for public cooperation and vigilance to prevent the circulation of spurious alcohol and safeguard community health and safety." The group wants residents to stay alert to the health dangers posed by these unregulated products.

The administration intends to lean on coordinated efforts between officials and local community leaders to keep the town safe. Everyone involved aims to stop the distribution of these harmful substances before they reach the public.
