Kohima: Ryatt Hotel and Homestay opened in Orchid Colony, Wokha Town, on October 31. Deputy Commissioner K Mhathung Tsanglao attended the ceremony as the special guest. He pushed for better local hospitality infrastructure to serve the rising number of tourists and visiting officials.
Tsanglao urged the staff to sharpen their communication skills and maintain high service standards. He also told the management to finalize all legal clearances from the Tourism Department for its dual role as a hotel and homestay. This business aims to create local jobs and bolster the economy.
Proprietor Yanchumrhumo W Jami built the facility after years of planning. He thanked the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative loan scheme for the funding. "The establishment was the fulfilment of a long-held dream," Jami said. The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank helped process that loan.
Jami wants young people to hunt for government startup schemes to build their own careers. Associate Pastor R Samuel Ovung of the Wokha Town Baptist Church ended the day by dedicating the new site.
