Zunheboto Opens New Urban Primary Health Centre

Kohima: Saying Shiu, the Zunheboto ADC, opened the new Urban Primary Health Centre on October 30. The facility sits at Lapato Junction, DC Hill East. Shiu told the crowd the center fills a massive gap for city residents. He called on village heads and local leaders to spread the word to all wards and help keep the place running right.

Dr. G. Thong, the Joint Director and SPO for the National Urban Health Mission, spoke at the event. He laid out the mission goals for the new site. The center provides 12 distinct health packages for free. Patients can access roughly 160 essential medicines and 45 different lab tests. Thong noted, "the UPHC would provide 12 comprehensive healthcare service packages free of cost."

The health plan includes regular outreach camps. Officials will run Urban Health and Nutrition Days four times every month. These events help merge several health programs into one spot. The current site is just a temporary setup. Work on a permanent building begins soon.

Dr. G. Viholi Sema, the Zunheboto Chief Medical Officer, gave the welcome address. Vihokhu Zhimo, Assistant Pastor of ZTSBC, started the event with an invocation. Dr. Heto Swu, the DPO for RCH and UIP, closed the ceremony with a vote of thanks. Attendees included NGO members and community leaders.
