BJP Claims Credit for Rs 40.74 Crore Alongtaki Road Projects

Kohima: The 30th Alongtaki BJP Mandal claims credit for Rs 40.74 crore in infrastructure projects across the constituency. The party attributes these gains to the PDA government led by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio. This statement responds to a recent challenge from the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency Congress Committee regarding local development.

The BJP insists on historical accuracy. "It is equally important that the public record accurately reflects the efforts and initiatives through which these projects were achieved," the Mandal stated in an October 1 press release. Temjen Imna Along, who serves as the local MLA and Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, backed the push for these works.

Road projects sanctioned under PMGSY-IV include the Lirmen to Tsuremmen route at Rs 10.38 crore and JRR Junction to Aonokpu at Rs 2.46 crore. Work also includes the L026 to Longjemdang stretch at Rs 2.60 crore and the T-01 to Moayimti path at Rs 3.46 crore. Bridge construction under PMGSY-III covers Tsuboyong at Rs 3.12 crore, Tsurang at Rs 12.35 crore, Tsuzaba at Rs 2.87 crore, and Nanaka at Rs 3.50 crore.

The party is eyeing future growth. They are pushing seven to eight additional road projects totaling over 100 km. These are currently under review by the Central Government. The BJP rejected Congress party claims as an unrealistic attempt to create a false narrative for political gain, pointing to the ongoing NDA alliance since 2014 as the driver for this infrastructure progress.
