Jalukie Youth Demand Immediate Road Repairs

Kohima: The Jalukie Pumling Youth Organisation is fed up. They demanded the immediate completion of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana road running from Jalukie Town to Kamdi Bazaar. The group accused the building agency of dragging its feet for far too long.

Rain makes it worse. Monsoons turned the route into a mess, creating constant trouble for commuters. The JPYO noted that the construction firm "significantly delayed the completion of the project" while weather conditions hammered the surface.

Villages and institutions feel the sting. Panjang, Jalukie Ram, Jalukie Kam, Beisumpuikam, and Samziuram all rely on this path. The Veterinary College and ZBCC Prayer Centre face the same headaches. Students and residents deal with immense hardship every day.

The group wants results fast. They told the agency to lay Granular Sub-Base material within two weeks to provide immediate relief. They also pointed to failing drainage pipes that overflowed during the wet season. "A proper and efficient drainage system must therefore be put in place to prevent further damage to the road and to avoid similar occurrences in the future," the group stated.

The patience of the JPYO is running thin. They warned that if repairs do not start, they will be "compelled to take its own course of action in the larger interest of the public." They refuse to accept any more excuses for the stalled project.
