Kohima: Class 10 students from PM SHRI Government High School, Thahekhu, toured Government Polytechnic Seithekema on November 4. Atovi Awomi, the vocational trainer for electronics, organized the one-day trip. They wanted to show students career paths outside a standard classroom.
Principal Er. Zhapulhouie Rupreo met the group. Faculty members led the tour. The students explored the Geotechnical, Concrete and Materials Technology, Physics, Chemistry, and AutoCAD and Design laboratories. Teachers explained how the gear works. They showed the kids how these tools function in everyday life.
The group moved to the workshops next. They inspected the carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and welding areas. Staff introduced basic tools and explained their practical use. The students got their hands dirty. They operated various laboratory tools and equipment across multiple disciplines. "To gain practical exposure to technical education and vocational skills," remained the primary goal for the day trip.
