Kohima: Two major community organizations have rejected a demand for Nagaland Minister Temjen Imna Along to resign. The Japukong Senso Senden and the Tzurangkong Senso Senden issued separate statements opposing an ultimatum from the Civil Society Organisation of Mangkolemba. The CSO previously demanded the minister leave office following disputes over a Multipurpose Hall project in Mokokchung.
The Japukong Senso Senden met on October 7. They labeled the October 3 ultimatum improper and uncalled for. The group claimed these demands lack a lawful basis and likely stem from selfish, political agendas. They insist that community problems require collective work instead of aggressive ultimatums.
The Tzurangkong Senso Senden also weighed in. They stated the resignation demand was neither an appropriate course of action nor directly relevant to the hall construction issues. They questioned why people outside the 30 Alongtaki Assembly Constituency are calling for the resignation of a man twice elected by local voters. Both groups urged all parties to move past political fighting. They want stakeholders to seek practical solutions through cooperation. Public interest must come first.
