Kohima: Naga People’s Front officials gathered in Mon Town on October 10 to review ongoing development projects. The 46th Mon Town Assembly Constituency meeting brought together party wings, central office bearers, and polling station leaders to plot a course for the next election. Attendees pushed for a unified front under the leadership of Chief Minister and NPF president Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
Central Office Bearer Tingtong reported that MLA Y Mankhao Konyak spearheaded several projects despite holding no departmental portfolio. Projects range from road repairs in Mon Town and surrounding villages to the construction of sports facilities. The MLA also funded a new recreational park, school renovations, and housing for tribal girls and working women.
Vice president Wangtem Konyak thanked the party members for their efforts since the MLA joined the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He praised their "sacrifices and tireless support" during his tenure. Advisor Temtok pushed the rank and file to stay vigilant and provide "action oriented service" to the constituency.
Peihwang Konyak chaired the session, while constituency president S Yeanglong Konyak led the open discussion. Yeanglong specifically highlighted the MLA's move to provide ex-gratia relief to victims of natural disasters during the summer of 2026. With the work ongoing, leadership expects voters to back Konyak again in the coming cycle.
