Congress Calls for New Delhi Protest Against Election Commissioner

Kohima: Congress leader Rajesh Kumar Sethi Jain is rallying citizens from Nagaland and Manipur to join a massive protest in New Delhi on October 12. The demonstration, organized by the All India Congress Committee and the INDIA alliance, demands the immediate resignation or removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Sethi, who serves as the National Coordinator of the AICC Minority Department for Manipur and previously led the NPCC Minority Department, argues the action is needed to defend the Constitution and ensure fair elections.

Sethi believes this fight goes beyond typical party politics. "This is not an issue concerning any one political party or any individual. It is an issue that concerns every citizen of India," he said. He maintains that the electoral process relies on public trust, transparency, and accountability. The leader urged students, youth, workers, and professionals to attend the event to safeguard the nation's democratic values.

Prominent figures including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Imran Pratapgarhi remain at the forefront of this movement. Sethi claims their ongoing struggle shows the commitment required to protect the voice of the people. He wants citizens to ignore party lines and unite for this cause. He told supporters: "The need of the hour is for every Indian who believes in democratic values, constitutional principles, and the power of the people's mandate to raise their voice peacefully and unitedly."
