Kohima: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee members hit the streets of Kohima on September 1. They marched to condemn the FIR filed against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The All India Congress Committee ordered the demonstration. Protesters gathered to vent their anger against the legal move. BJP workers triggered the case.
NPCC President and Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir addressed the crowd. He called the legal action "politically motivated" and labeled it an attempt to silence opposition voices. Jamir vowed the party would not back down. They intend to keep fighting for democratic rights and constitutional justice.
The NPCC also demanded legal action for the Haldwani incident in Uttarakhand. The party remains firm. Similar marches took place in Dimapur, Tuensang, and Kiphire. Local committees led these events across the state to show solidarity with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Mokokchung District Congress Committee issued a separate call to scrap the fabricated FIR immediately. They urged citizens to protect dignity and justice as defined by the Constitution.
