Kohima: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee brought its Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao campaign to Mon district on November 3. Party leaders gathered to audit the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. AICC Observer Puran Chand Padhi and NPCC Working President Apok Jamir led the meeting alongside members of the Mon District Congress Committee.
Padhi sounded the alarm on what he called vote chori. He alleged the current revision process is being used to strip genuine voters from the rolls. He accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of presiding over a system that systematically removes eligible citizens. Padhi told local party workers to perform constituency-level verification to stop the purging of voter rights.
Jamir echoed these warnings while criticizing the process as Ghati Chor. He presented data suggesting roughly 14 percent of votes have disappeared across the country. "Approximately 14% of votes had been deleted across the country and urged party workers to ensure that no eligible voter was deprived of their democratic rights," Jamir said during his address.
The Mon district rollout appears more organized than in Dimapur, according to Jamir. Despite this, he demanded rigorous oversight across all of Nagaland. He set a firm deadline for the task. Workers must scrutinize the rolls and report all discrepancies to authorities by November 20, 2026. The committee aims to secure every valid vote before the window closes.
