IEEMA Promotes ELECRAMA 2027 Power Expo in Kohima

Kohima: The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) brought its ELECRAMA 2027 roadshow to Kohima on November 3. Held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, the preview event focused on the upcoming 17th edition of the global trade fair. The main event runs from February 20 to 24, 2027, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR.

Organizers expect massive turnout. The expo will host over 1,100 exhibitors and 500,000 visitors. Plans include 25,000 business meetings, 500 hosted buyers, and 10 country pavilions. The theme is Harnessing the Power of ‘I’.

Nagaland Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, attended the session. He encouraged firms to hire local talent and bridge the gap between the Northeast and the rest of India. “Businesses must act as a powerful force for integration, just as trade had historically connected regions, and business bodies could link the Northeast with the rest of the country,” Kenye stated. He confirmed Nagaland will participate in the 2027 exhibition.

Principal Secretary of the Department of Power, KD Vizo, outlined specific local opportunities. Investors can target hydro and solar projects, battery storage, and smart metering. Transmission needs include lines at 220 kV, 132 kV, 32 kV, and 33 kV. Vizo wants manufacturers to enter the Nagaland market now.

IEEMA Vice Chairman for the Eastern Region, Arjun Deb, framed the event as a massive energy showcase. Nilankha Chaliha, the association's State Head for the Northeast, delivered a detailed presentation on the 2027 plans. IEEMA, established in 1948, represents the full chain of power equipment manufacturing. The group remains the first ISO-certified industry association in India.
